The restoration of Giotto's wall paintings in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua lasted eight months, ending in March 2002: an opportunity that Lorenzo Capellini did not miss to portray the faces and hands in the frescoes in close-up, using the same scaffolding as the restorers. The book accompanies the visitor in an exciting "impossible" reading, guiding him to the discovery of details of the characters painted by Giotto otherwise almost unreadable, because either too far away or too damaged.
